I tried just pushing it down again and it doesn't even get close. I'm still having problems getting my modem cable down though. So I was able to stick my hand in and pull the cable down with more force than I was able to by pulling the string and I got it. (I was planning on installing some Ethernet jacks eventually and could use the extra space anyways) I'll just get a wider box to fill the space. I looked up the model of the plastic box to see how it attached to the wall and found it has a nail on the top and bottom ( this) I tried just cutting the plastic to remove it but I couldn't get it so I just cut about an inch of drywall on the side so that I could pull the nails out and remove it. I can't see any screws or anything that are holding it in, but it wont come out, and it would be a lot easier to pull the string and possibly see up into the wall if I could get it out.Ĭan't find the edit button, sorry if it's there and I'm just blind Anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how I can fix it?Īlso I was wondering how the plastic box that the cables go into and the face plate screws to is attached to the wall. I have no idea what to do now, I can't cut open the wall or anything like that.

So I tied the strings onto the TV cable and started pulling it up, and after about 6 inches it got stuck and I cant pull it anymore, so I tried to pull it back down and it wont come down either. So I got as far as getting the cable into the attic and quickly realized it's not that simple to stick the cable down and get it through the hole, so my genius idea was to tie 2 strings on to the TV cable, pull it up, then tie one of the strings to the modem cable and pull them back down. My plan was to "simply" pull the cable out of the wall, run it though a vent into the attic right next to the room I want it in, then down the wall along with my tv cable.

In the initial installation, the comcast installer just ran the cable around the outside of the house and then straight through the wall. The mantel is too high for a photo display.Because the room and the fireplace are so big you have to do big decorating. So I decided I wanted to move my cable modem to a different room. Because the fireplace is so large, have an oversized art object above the mantel or a large painting or mirror, bottom resting on the mantel. Have your family photos in an arrangement on the wall at the left with a console table under and some lamps and some stools under for extra seating. White or off white semi - sheers on a big cunky rod. I would do remote control window blinds then have the whole wall with drapes over, floor to ceiling and wall to wall. The sofa could be a long one with a lounger end.The TV can be to the side of the fireplace either set on a console cabinet or mounted on a swilvel wall braket w/ a cabinet under.

That's large too me.I think the sofa can sit a little closer to the fireplace leaving 30 inches from the back of the sofa to the arch. Then a chair flanking the sides of the fireplace. HI - Elyse - Is this your formal living room or the casual family room ? And is that your furniture shown ? That is a massive fireplace and I would not say that 15x20 is a small room.
